HOuse of blessing

Did you know?

Around 1 in 5 children in Thailand live without their biological parents. WHY?

- Parents often go into the city to work, leaving the children in the grandparents' care

- Around 1 million children live in vulnerable conditions, either on the streets or in poverty

- Thousands of children are in child care

What is House of Blessing?

House of Blessing (HOB) is a children's home located in rural Chiang Mai, Thailand. The non-profit organization is Christ-centered and seeks to take care of village children nearby whose parents or guardians are unable to take care of them or whose situations are considered risky.

StorieS

HOB has touched the lives of many children in Chiang Mai. Here are some of their stories.

K

K's young mother, a university student, faced an impossible choice when her partner abandoned her. Determined to give her baby a chance at life, she entrusted him to a social worker at the hospital. Just two weeks old, K found a loving home at HOB. Today, he is a dedicated university student and a cherished member of our church's worship team.

Sisters P & z

When P & Z were 6 and 3, respectively, they lived with their father, who was a drug addict. Their mom had run away. Their dad often neglected them, leaving them at home for days at a time. He'd also bring friends home to do drugs.

It was not safe for the sisters. When the local church noticed this, they were worried that the girls would be trafficked or traded for drugs, so they contacted HOB. The girls have been there ever since! Nowadays, P is in university, and Z is in secondary school.

T

T's mom was a prostitute in one of Chiang Mai's red light districts. She continued working after giving birth, even bringing the baby into the workplace. T would've followed the same fate if a Christian ministry hadn't taken her from her mom's hands and brought the baby to HOB when she was 3 months. Currently, she is residing at HOB and pursuing her studies at the university.
